my story

My name is Seal, and I create whimsical and horror-themed illustrations. I want to show that those two things are not mutually exclusive. I enjoy scary things and things that express a sense of wonder. Ink paintings are the best way to blend the two, but digital is a close second.

Artistic process

MY illustrations start with simple pencil drawings, after a long thumbnailing and planning stage. the drawing is then scanned, and then painted over digitally or TRADITIONALLY with INDIA ink.

experience

I have a Bfa in Illustration from kendall college of art and design. i have EXPERIENCE in PORTRAITURE, murals, traditional and digital paintings and illustrations, as well as ink line-based work.

My ink-based illustrations are a must-see in my portfolio gallery. Straight-line, hatching, and inkwash invite the viewer into a greyscale world!
From vibrant colorways, to monochromatic, to black-and-white, my watercolor illustrations cover a wide variety of styles, tastes, and personal preferences.
My digital work ranges from paintings to brand designs. I use and am proficient in Photoshop and Adobe InDesign.
